When can I purchase tickets or reserve seats?
The new movie week starts on Friday and one movie week is from Friday until Thursday. Premieres are traditionally screened on Friday, but some bigger movies make exceptions. Tickets can be purchased on the Tuesday prior to the start of the new movie week. Ticket sales open on Tuesday afternoons. NB! Seats cannot be reserved at the moment. You can buy tickets on our website or at theatre ticket counters.
Why are showtimes only available one week at a time?
The movie showtime schedule is published only one week at a time due to several reasons. Premieres are first screened on Fridays and some movies are withdrawn from the schedule to make room for new films. The number of viewers per week, per film are a good indication whether a film remains on the schedule or not. The movie showtime schedule therefore is constatly in flux, and due to that can only be done for one week at a time. Some premieres are exceptions and they can have ticket sales opening earlier than usual. Such events will always be notified in advance. The length of movies varies as well, which makes it difficult for a film to be screened at the same time every week. Age limits also affect schedules as children’s movies usually run earlier in the day.
Can I purchase vouchers, business vouchers or gift cards online?
Vouchers can be purchased both online and at theatre ticket counters. Gift cards can only be bought at theatre ticket counters. Business vouchers can be ordered by contacting the Savon Kinot office, phone: 040 7092 766. If you live in a town outside of Savon Kinot theatres, you can still order gift cards or vouchers by contacting the Savon Kinot office or through this form.
A film included in the upcoming showtimes section doesn’t have a premiere showtime in the theatre in my town. How come?
All movies are not screened at the same time or at all in all of our theatres. This is due to eg. auditorium seat capacities. Make sure to check our schedule weekly for such films. The upcoming showtimes section only lists the Finnish premiere date, which may not be the same as the premiere date in the theatre near you. You can also ask about specific films by filling out this form.
Where can I find age limits and can I bring someone below the age limit to see the movie with me?
The age limit can be found in the introduction of each film. The age limit can be found in the ball shaped symbol. An S means that the film is suitable for all ages. People three years or less below the age limit can attend the movie with a person who is at least 18 years of age. This means that parental guidance is necessary and it is up to the parent whether they want their child to see a film with said rating. Besides the age limit symbol, sometimes films have a content symbol, which is an indication as to why the age limit is what it is. Such symbols include sexual content, violence and drugs. Check out all age limits here.
If you have bought tickets in advance, it is recommended to check age limits before the screening as sometimes they may change due to eg. audience feedback. Film content can be previewed in advance by checking the cinema website or by checking out trailers at websites such as IMDB.com.
Audiovisual programme classifiers, trained and supervised by The Finnish Centre for Media Education and Audiovisual Programmes (MEKU), set age limits and content symbols for movies. The age limits are not recommendations, but based on Finnish law. Cinemas are responsible for implementing the age limits.

About 3D-movies
Some films are screened in 3D. 3D movies are viewed with special 3D glasses, which make the film appear three dimensional.
3D glasses are distributed to the audience as they enter the auditorium and are returned to a collecting box at the end of the movie.
3D glasses can be worn on top of eyeglasses. They require stereo sight though, so if you can only see with one eye, 3D glasses cannot, unfortunately, be used.
Our theatres also have 3D glasses suitable for children.
Treat 3D glasses with care!
