En Route To Creation With PJ Harvey
A Dog Called Money is a journey to the source of The Hope Six Demolition Project (2016), the thirteenth studio album by an alternative icon PJ Harvey. In this documentary, Harvey and war reporter and photo journalist Seamus Murphy take us to Kosovo, Afghanistan and Washington D.C. in search of inspiration on hope, humanity and destruction. All these themes can be heard on the haunting album. The duo have previously worked together on Harvey's Let England Shake album and their collaboration is seamless - PJ captures lyrics while Murphy captures images. The results are breathtaking.
Besides being an intimate and personal journey to the roots of PJ Harvey’s creative processes, the film is also an extremely touching and eye-opening depiction of matters that most people want to ignore. A delicate, political and impressionistic documentary raises questions and forces the viewer to look into the dirty faces of age-old relics of governments.
