Thirty years of rebellion
Here’s the secret recipe: follow your own vision, strong friendship, and a passion for art. Aurinko ei mahdu - Sur-rurin ensimmäiset 30 vuotta looks back on the journey story of Sur-rur, the punk band formed in Lapua, Finland, in 1996, from its very first chords to the riffs of today.
An extensive video archive put together with interviews with the band, friends and fans paint a picture of a band for whom music has never been just music. It is a way of being, making things, experimenting and seeing what happens. That approach has carried Sur-rur from punk circles smelling of wrestling mats all the way to becoming an Emma Award-winning cult band.
The world around us may have changed, and the old threads may have been woven into new, colourful patterns, but even the thick blanket of time still doesn’t seem able to cover everything. Sur-rur keeps the beat going.
