Everybody to Kenmure Street

We won’t back down
An ordinary May morning in Glasgow turns into an act of resistance when immigration officers detain two local residents on Kenmure Street. But the neighbours aren't about to just walk on by.
One person stops beside the van. Another crawls underneath, clinging to its axle. Others block the van's path. Phones come out, footage spreads like wildfire, and people drop their morning cuppas and work meetings to join the crowd. Dozens become hundreds, then thousands. Eight hours later, the authorities back down. The men are freed, and Britain's immigration policies face renewed scrutiny.
Director Felipe Bustos Sierra brings the uprising to life through eyewitness accounts and mobile footage, with Emma Thompson and Kate Dickie lending their voices to anonymous protesters. Change doesn't always need a leader or a plan. Sometimes, all it takes is one person standing their ground – and others refusing to leave them standing alone.
