Did punk bring down the Soviet Union?
The communist paradise is just around the corner! Except the shops are empty, the KGB is breathing down everyone's neck and nuclear war is looming. In 1982 Tallinn, a bunch of fed-up youngsters fight back the only way they know how: by forming a punk band called Velikije Luki. Arrests, beatings, gig bans and forced psychiatric treatment can't shut them up. The booze flows, the amps roar and Soviet authority gets a proper kicking.

Indrek Spungin's Happiness Is Living in Our Land is a gloriously foul-mouthed, darkly funny punk documentary. Outrageous recollections, inventive re-enactments and the sheer absurdity of Soviet life collide in a riotous take on Estonia's road to independence. History, but definitely not as your teachers taught it.
